Brown Sugar Ketchup is an easy way to spice up sweet potato tots or sweet potato fries.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

While the sweet potato fries are frying make the ketchup: In a saucepan, combine the ketchup and brown sugar. Stir them together over medium heat until the brown sugar is completely dissolved into the ketchup.

Stir in the apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and a pinch of salt to the mixture.

Allow the mixture to come to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the brown sugar ketchup cool to room temperature.

Transfer the brown sugar ketchup to an airtight container, such as a glass jar or squeeze bottle, and store it in the refrigerator. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
