Parmesan baked tomatoes are a delicious and simple dish that makes a great side or appetizer for brunch or dinner.


  • 4 large tomatoes, sliced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling


    1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Slice the very top of the tomato off. Place the tomatoes on the prepared baking sheet . (Slice off a very thin piece of the bottom of the tomato to balance them if necessary.)
    3. In a small bowl, mix together the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, and chopped fresh basil. Add salt and pepper to taste.
    4. Sprinkle the Parmesan mixture evenly over each tomato slice.
    5. Drizzle olive oil over the top of the tomatoes.
    6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the Parmesan is melted and golden brown, and the tomatoes are tender.
    7. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
