Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized sweet potatoes, washed and cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup or brown sugar

Instructions

    1. Place the sweet potato chunks in a large pot and cover them with water. Add a pinch of salt to the water. Bring the water to a boil and cook the sweet potatoes until they are fork-tender, which should take about 15-20 minutes.
    2. While the sweet potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Once the butter is melted, stir in the ground cinnamon and nutmeg.
